Memories: Sydney + Brisbane

I reckon I did a fair amount of travelling in my late teens/early 20s. Tonight while clearing some old documents, I came across this photograph. I guess we could have taken it out to show someone. Gotta source out the album.

Such sweet memories of Australia. Our house, the frequent trips, the winter, Surfer’s Paradise, Sydney Harbour, Movie World, Sea World, was it Dreamworld for the other world? Oh the memories are endless! I recall the bus stops, and the street-walkers, to the beggar-grandpa at the Blue Mountains. Boy was he cool! Heh..

The picture above was their Skyway cable car. It went across the valley, and the base was made of metal wires. I think I was about 16 when I took my first ride on it.

No world-famous rollercoaster ride at Dreamworld/Movieworld after that could top this ride. It seems they replaced the cable cars with glass-like bottoms. While that’s all nice and dandy, I’m glad I was lucky enough to travel above the spikey tree-littered valley, it the rustic-little-bouncy-shakey-ride-of-a-lifetime.

Australia also reminds me of the washboards @ Surfers Paradise I never appreciated enough. Perhaps it’s time to visit an old house again.

Updated: I suppose I still do travel often. Was just crippled over 2008 and 2009 with the pregnancies. We did manage to squeeze in short vacations for both years though. So I shall not complain. 😡
