ps: We’ve shifted homes. *again*

I just grew real sick of being unable to edit much here.. and too much of a scrooge to pay hosting for a personal blog.

Love-Hate Relationship with Cliffhangers! (+Santa!)

Anyone following Royal Pains? Haven’t been a huge fan, but I do follow through the episodes occasionally, good enough to understand the storyline.

I was getting a little bored with the Hank-Jill-Charlie triangle, and wondering whether Evan and Divya were gonna hook up (I think they’d make a cute couple!) despite her arranged soon-to-be marriage to Raj.. but the season ended perfectly with 3 cliffhangers! Unlike the rest of their otherwise quite-dull episodes, the Wonderland episode’s good enough to keep one hanging onto for the next season!

Ugly Betty’s coming back, too. *Yay* It’s been awhile since there’s been good TV.. !

Christmas is round the corner(!), and this probably the first year that I haven’t gotten time to get all hyped up over it, yet!

Sweet Santa brought me everything I’ve asked for early this year~ Weeee~~!!!!

I can-not wait for 2010!

Of Org-Freaks and then some.

I-am-an-organizing-freak.

In fact, I’m such a freak at it, that I truly believed I’d be some massive planning/organizing professional. Beats me why I never got into that. Probably because there isn’t such a qualification, yet. Right? I mean I can’t quite imagine

Diploma in Organization

Because I’d ace that. No doubt.

ALTHOUGH, with everything that’s been going on, my org-freak-brain has been deep-fried-till-charred that even the scavengers would reject it. So I took matters into hands, and got myself a cool new organizing thingie. I say thingie, because I am so not the geeknizer kinda person who’d use a software to remind me while I’m on-the-go. BUTT.. Desperate times .. So check out the cool new geeknizer thingie I got myself. I love it~ I do I do!!

It’s long-weekends with us again, (Woot!) and we’ve got loads planned out to bring us through till Sunday. Can’t wait!

There was a girl I used to know

Everytime I chance upon this song, it has never failed to bring a tear to my eye. Not a tear of sadness or hurt, but a tear of thankfulness. I’m sure there are many other women who can relate to this song and video, and just like them, so can I. Every sentence of the song, every second of the video, except for the last few seconds.

The song by the way, deals with domestic violence and is inspired by Nichole Brown Simpson (O J Simpson’s deceased wife), although the end of the video clip depicts that the woman killed her husband/boyfriend.

And that’s why I’m thankful that I’d been so so blessed. Despite everything that’s happened, I’ve managed to pull myself together again. I’ve learnt to love again, wisely.

I was just chatting with a girlfriend today, who’s fallen into the same trap. I wish I could just reach out and help her, but I think there’s never a more ‘personal’ decision than one like this. I only hope she finds the courage to come to the right decision, soon. When will we, as a society, care enough to stop the cycle of abuse? So many women are hiding behind this facade of happiness simply because they’re too busy dealing with their momentary hurt, they fail to look beyond, at the bigger picture.

There was a girl I used to know
She was oh so beautiful
But she’s not here anymore
She had a college degree
Smart as anyone could be
She had so much to live for
But she fell in love
With the wrong kinda man
He abused her love and treated her so bad
There was not enough education in her world
That could save the life of this little girl

How come, how long
Its not right, it’s so wrong
Do we let it just go on
Turn our backs and carry on
Wake up, for it’s too late
Right now, we can’t wait
She wont have a second try
Open up your hearts
As well as your eyes

She tried to give a cry for help
She even blamed things on herself
But no one came to her aid
Nothing was wrong as far as we could tell
That’s what we’d like to tell ourselves
But no, it wasn’t that way
So she fell in love
With the wrong kinda man
And she paid with her life
For loving that man
So we cannot ignore
We must look for the signs
And maybe next time
We might save somebody’s life

I on occasion met that guy
He stirred up bad feelings deep inside
Something about him wasn’t right
The way he proves himself a man
By beatin’ his woman with his hands
Oh I wish she’d seen the light
How can someone like that
Call himself a man

In reality he’s far more less than that
And we cannot ignore
Whenever we see the signs
Cause any kinda of abuse
God knows isn’t right

OMG!! It’s only 40 days to our wedding, and we’ve still got so much to settle! Put together his ‘n’ her busy schedules, we don’t quite get much time to tend to our wedding things. We’d already picked the date months ago, but were merely sitting on our asses, waiting to get inspired. To think we’ve had months to put the day together, and only rushing it now. *tsk tsk*

  • Confirm & book venue
  • Customize menu
  • My gear
  • His gear
  • Photographer we’ve got two!
  • Videographer
  • Florist & Decor
  • Invitation cards
  • Collect RSVP
  • Plan seating arrangement
  • Send program to printers
  • Prepare vows
  • Music (almost there!)
  • Thank you packages for wedding party
  • RINGS
  • Planning the after-party
  • All the other nitty gritty details!!

I did want our wedding to be on the date we “got together.” ( I always found that dumb.. I mean really, how can you pick a date where you supposedly made an agreement that you’re a couple?? But we have one =P ) Though that was just wayyy too soon, and we both wanted more time to prep and plan for our big day.

Which brings us to 40-days-prior, and we’re still handing out invitations. I’m thinking we’d be able to settle all these planning details over the next two weeks, and that’d leave the next few weeks to sourcing and shopping for our gear + rings. We’ve been window shopping every weekend (I heart long weekends), but yet to find anything that’s caught our eyes. Oh well, I’m sure we’d find something in due time. We aren’t so superficial, what we really want on our wedding day is to be finally legally to-get-her! And of course, to share our fabulous day with people we hold dear to our hearts. I’m so bloody excited to meet up with old friends of mine, his, and ours whom we’ve been too busy to catch over the past couple of months.

So people, kindly RSVP faster, so I’d be able to place you to seat with table-mates you’d prefer!

PS: In case I forgot to mention, I am still a coffee addict. =(

So close that your hand on my chest is my hand…

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride,
so I love you because I know no other way than this:
where “I” does not exist, nor “you,”
So close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
So close that your eyes close and I fall asleep.

Of Invites and Yellow Vaginas.

If you’re following me on birdie, Twitter, you’d have noticed me hyping over my love for Fridays. Well it’s not quite to “party till the moon turns bright?” as Gene’d put it.

We picked up our Invites yesterday! I’m not sure why I didn’t roll over and hyperventilate there on the spot.. or when we got back home.. perhaps the news didn’t quick settle in quickly. O-M-G, am I getting s-l-o-w? 😛 I’ve been so frigging busy, and perhaps haven’t had time to sit and absorb the news just as yet.

LRB‘s been keeping me busy, albeit the ‘botak’ site. I’ve got stuffs prepped for 2010, and can’t wait to start! On top of the prep for LRB, the blog‘s been keeping me swamped, too. We’ve been getting lots of queries and proposals over the past few months, which is always gooood! I’ve had some real bizarre suggestions I’ve had to turn-down though. Nevertheless, they sure provide a good chuckle over a late night’s cuppa Java. Yep, we’re strange living creatures who slurp at Starbucks night after night. Speaking of Javas…

It’s always been good having a partner who shared the same preference with me over our choice of coffee joints. It’s however, been BAD ever since Starbucks popped up at Sembawang Shopping Centre. It’s been BAD-DER that there’s a FOC shuttle bus that picks us up, a stone throw away from our glorious room. Now, if that’s not bad enough... we’ve recently been stamping passports and crossing causeways to the Starbucks there!!

Oct-Nov has been crazy. I’ve been piled up with planning, you ought to see the sticky notes all over my room. What we need is a swanky new study!

And oh, guess what I met at Bengawan Solo today?

For only 80 cents, you get to own your very own Banana Puki.

Geek Sex

In a survey by German broadband association Bitkom around 84 percent of respondents said they would rather do without their current partner or an automobile than forego their connection to the Web.

Why am I NOT surprised?

Machines are too cold and hard to cuddle with at night, IMO.

Withdrawal Symptoms

Come home, quick.

It’s been 33 hours. I can’t wait to touch you again!

On a separate note, why’s it so hard to find someone selling sahara roses here??? Might be cause I’m not chummy with any florist buddies.

I want saharas – from Ecuador, apparently.

Tough.

It’s tough being a woman. There’s all these stereotypical roles assigned to us, and we oh-so-often fall into the categories; whether we opt to, or not.

It’s tough dating a woman. We (most of us anyways) talk way too much. About things you have done with us, or never did for us. About the time you brought us flowers, or the years you spent not bringing.

And sometimes, we fail to see, or talk about the things you did for us. Like the time you entertained the god-awful people because they were our friends. We talk about the times you soiled our clothes, instead of the times we ripped yourself. Or burnt. Or stained.

We give you short choppy dialogue, so that you’d sound distant, not us. We then send you notes, and you’ll notice the things we didn’t say. Like the time you flew 6000 miles to see us cause we couldn’t get out of bed. Or the time you carried us, just so the new pair of heels wouldn’t bite. We wouldn’t say how good it felt that you stayed away just to ensure we had a peaceful sleep.

Quick, Think!

I’ve got a set of dual electric boob pump to review. Complete for 4 milk bottles, casing, carrier, and all. I’m SO tempted to try it on.

Now I just need boobymilk.

Found: Short Men

Remember how I said I feel sorry for short men? Well couple of weeks ago, my trusty friend from the NMS’s marketing told me that they’d be featuring a whole bunch of short chinese men real soon.

Now, how could I say no to that?! So last weekend, we dutifully trotted down to the NMS.

I think short men aren’t any different from the rest, but a chuckle or two did slip outta my mouth when I heard a chinese lady sharing some crude secret/jokes about short chinese men. Heh!

Soaking in September’s Sundays

This is how Sundays always start for us.

My favourite shot among the many we took from the NMS last Sunday.

My September’s Indulgence: Melted Marshmallow Delights

Sempang, Sembawang?

Drink too much Coke, and you become a Birdie.

Free movie screen at NMS. Must watch. Sappy malay duets being sung, and then suddenly got war.

Kesavan. Seems he was hot-stuffs back then with his Mamak mustache.

Seems they had funky red laptops many eons ago.

There’s a point in life when you get tired of chasing people and trying to fix everything, but it’s not giving up. It’s realizing that you don’t need certain people and their  crap.

I feel sorry for short men, I really do!

And by that, I don’t mean those standing about 1.65m, etc.. I refer to those teetering close towards the midgets’ margin. Least when your a girl, you’re called a walking-you-know-what. As for the men…

They’ve got to resort to wearing tee’s like this. Ouch!!
