What’s become of us?

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life;

We’ve added years to life, but have we lived any?

We’re living in times of dual incomes, and higher rates of divorce;

of fancier houses, but broken homes.

We have bigger houses and smaller families;

more degrees, but less sense;

We have multiplied our possessions, but forgotten our values.

We love too seldom, and hate too often.

we buy more, but enjoy less.

High on quantity, but low on quality.

More leisure, but less fun

Tall men, with short character

Steep profits, and shallow relationships

We’re building tall buildings, but short tempers

We widen our highways, but narrow our judgements.

What’s become of us?

Pink Attack

Ahhh.. the joys of being a solopreneur. Have I said how busy I’ve been as of late? Been giving my room/workstation n ultra-recession friendly make-over, and I’m thrilled!

DSC00326Well, I’m not done, and I’ve still got a LONGGG way to go, but the beginning stages are looking realllly good. Plus, LRB’s been keeping me oh-so-busy as of late too. Reviews, and giveaways, plus we’re planning our product launch soon.

So that’s something to look forward to, and also the main reason behind my room makeover. With the added people and materials in my room, I’ve hardly got space to walk around.

It’s been a good though, as always I LURVE being busy.

No brownie points for guessing what’s my favourite colour. 😛

Pixar Grants a Wish to a Dying Girl

Colby Curtin, a 10-year-old girl who had a rare form of cancer was trying to stay alive so she could see the new Pixar Movie “UP”. Ever since she saw the previews she had always wanted to see it, but was too sick and could not be transported to a movie theater.

A friend of the family made several calls to Pixar and explained the situation. The lovely folks at Pixar showed compassion on the little girl dying of cancer and flew an employee out to Huntington Beach with a DVD copy of the movie for a private viewing of the movie. The little girl died seven hours after viewing the movie.

Was Pixar trying to be nice for the publicity, or did they do it because they truly cared about the little girl? Either ways, stories like this one make me feel like there is still love in this world.

The day that you died, was the worst day…

The day that you died, was the worst day of my life
I’ve never before felt so sad

That night before you died, was the last night with you

I try not to cry, I try to be strong
But each day is so hard, since you’ve been gone

Every time I go out, when I have things to do
I always find something, that reminds me of you

There are so many things, that I have yet to do
Things that I wanted to share with you

I don’t even have a place to go to
Where I could have laid you to rest

It all happened so quickly
It seemed like a dream
It doesn’t feel right

I know that its real
And I’ll never forget you
But I just don’t know
Without you what to do

It’s been two months now, I try so hard
But It’s my fault for knowing not what I should have known

The usual blabber, plus discount vouchers for U!

Time management becomes crucial once you make the decision to work from home.

I was surprised at how uneasily I suffered disciplined myself to be productive through sleepless nights several hours each day. Each morning I awoke to exhaustion more energy and creative ideas.

It took me forever awhile, but I’ve learnt to juggle my duties over time. I began using the big black book more often, and broke down my daily activities into ones that will build my list, and help me generate more income. When I sensed that something doesn’t fall into one of these areas, it probably is something that is just taking up my time and not something that will help me to meet my goals.

I also love having the time to spend with my family and friends, as well as with my activities in my community. By making a schedule for myself and managing my time, I am able to accomplish much more than I had ever thought I could in such a short period of time. During the past two months, I have begun to outsource even more of what I do in my business. I know what i enjoy doing and what I am good at; and that helps!

On other days however, I feel like this.

Meanwhile, the folks at Fabkins have generously agreed to give all LRB readers a 10% discount off all their products! So hurry, and utilitze the offer now!! Head over to our community to find out how.

Of Abercrombie & Fitch’s Discriminations

Not very nice folks are they! I’m glad I stopped wearing their clothes. Even though the reason behind it’s that they do not sell their gear  here. 😛

An absolutely howling crazy week!

Last week was positively crazy! It’s too bad I don’t have any zoinked photographic evidence. Sure would have been a memorable one to keep!

It all began from the start of the week. My review requests slowly began creeping in, and I was in the midst of sorting them out, when it occured to me that they’d be a fabulous avenue for my site’s giveaways. Which added on much more workload for the week. I spent most of my pre-weekend preparing and planning out my review giveaways. Which of course required a whole new outlook on the site. I’m pretty glad with the turn out though! My new mini namecards totally fit LRB’s brand new appeal.

It was rumoured that we might be heading out on Friday night again. I had wayyyy too much outstanding  job to even catch a breather before I threw on some clothes, painted my face and headed out.

Note: The trains in Singapore are getting kraa-ziee..

We caught Alan Bates at the Howl at the Moon. Perankan Place was swamped as any other given weekend, and I was wayyy too exhausted to even attempt in having fun. The show however, totally brought the party mood going!

Note: The show, and the influence of alcohol. Let’s give credit where it’s due!

He was superbly fun to watch, had the audience totally spellbound and his participants knocked out; which was good. Hehe. His antics were brilliant and entertaining at the same time. He managed to get the guinea pigs to do some pretty mind bending stuffs, and some fellas even managed to kick the habit of smoke. How true, I’m not too sure, but seemed like it for then! All in all, it was a fabulous, hilarious show, I don’t think I stopped laughing for more than 5 minutes at any point of time.

If you’ve got Alan Bates performing any spot near you, be sure to give it a try. Was absolutely worth the dough.

As for now, I CANNOT believe it’s Monday already!

It’s 8 weeks.

I know I ought to stop counting, but I can’t. Exactly 2 months ago, I was sitting outside the AMD room, probably by the I end this post, I was already in the AMD room.

Exactly 4 months ago, you were the healthiest little baby.

I scanned this in to keep it safe, so when you grew up, you’d see how little you were in me. My gorgeous little baby gum. I still don’t know what went wrong.
